Did I ever tell you the story of the great plotter, Vanessa?
The story goes thus;
There once was a woman well known for her plotting ways, everything had a schedule and though they never worked out, she never stopped plotting. Her greatest rival was God. He enjoyed throwing a wrench in her plans and ruining her efforts, still it did not stop Vanessa from plotting and planning.
One day, after planning for the biggest project of her life, it was shut down so fast, she came home wrecked and defeated. Then she declared before God, “Okay, since you claim to know everything, I’m going to let you prove yourself. Carry out your plans in my life and I won’t interfere with mine. For this period, I’ll stop the plotting and planning. Show me what you’re made of.”
God accepted the challenge, God was pleased. God decided to make her project come through but in ways she didn’t expect. You see, Vanessa knew the ways of the world, but she didn’t know the ways of grace. Grace made the lame walk just so a mission could be accomplished, grace made the blind see and humans fly.
Vanessa was astounded!
She went to God and praised him.
“Truly, you know everything and your ways are not my ways. Henceforth, I will walk and work with grace, the ways of the world don’t hold its appeal anymore, you know better. I’ll let you plan out the rest of my life. I will not promise to stop plotting because life haven’t been fair to me and I’ve had to plan and aspire above my station, but with time, I’ll learn to trust you and embrace the ways of grace.

The great plotter is a reflection of a lot of us, who because of reasons or the other, have had to rely on only our strengths. We find it difficult to give control over to others and this is quite understandable; people will fail you, you can love them but you can’t absolutely trust them. That’s why you need someone stronger, more stable, more knowledgeable than you, God. God will never let you down, and no matter the trouble you encounter, God will never leave you on your own. Take a chance and trust God, let’s walk together in grace. 👫
