Walking Red

I experienced my first heartbreak as a child and everywhere I went my heart bled a little. I would spot dots of blood accompanying my steps but I never gave it a thought.

I have experienced more heartbreaks since then and I am almost synonymous with the woman with the issue of blood in the bible. Unlike her, my blood is a red carpet flowing before and behind me, colouring everything around me; my relationships, my job, my health, my finances, nothing is spared from this ocean of red.

One day I asked myself, aren’t you tired of walking red? Wouldn’t you like to see what life can become if you heal from these heartbreaks? And the answer was, Yes. I want to reach out and hold on and not draw blood.

I wanted to experience life without bleeding all over, so I began the healing journey of forgiveness; to keep forgiving myself, no matter what I did, no matter what I encountered, and forgive those who hurt me.

Only then was I able to plug that shit up.
