Hi little one,
I know the adults have not done a good job protecting you from danger online and physically. It breaks my heart that you are losing your innocence, when you shouldn’t have had to know what that word meant, shouldn’t have experienced the frantic grappling in the dark, the bad thoughts running through your mind; words you weren’t supposed to hear.
Now you think you are alone and no one understands just how messed up you are, no one sees how much you’re trying to escape your reality even if it means ending it forever.
My baby, you are not alone and I am sorry that you didn’t get that adult to take care of you until now, you didn’t get that one person who was intentional about your well-being and made sure you had sound development.
I’m here now, maybe not with you physically, but I’m here, I know you. I’m aware of you and you don’t have to go through your struggles alone. It is important to me that even if the world around you doesn’t show care, you can choose differently for yourself. There are so many beautiful values that will guide you and preserve you from the dangers of street life; integrity is a beautiful value, fairness is another.
These are the only values I can give you for now, and I hope they will see you through the tough times. It is very important that you stand for something positive; otherwise, you’ll be just another statistic.
We are all statistics, but some of us make all the difference.
Take care of yourself, baby. I’m with you always.
