Away From Home

When I was young, I spent few holidays at certain relatives’ houses, it wasn’t a good experience.

That’s partly the reason I’m averse to staying with people. It’s the reason no child of mine will stay at anyone’s place unless I’m there as well.

It’s the reason I’m against people staying with me, I don’t want to be a part of your bad experience and one day you write about me in your blog.

If you’re going to accommodate people in your space…don’t! But if you really can’t help it, especially dealing with kids because that’s my experience, be ready for the destruction because they will destroy things and you cannot kill them, no matter how many times you warn them off.

Their ears are also made of wood, they get lost in the moment, forget all your warnings and only cry when they’re caught.

As of today, my cousin has destroyed two mop sticks, my teddy bear; a cherished gift, and other minor incidents. The other boy bears the brunt of someone’s misplaced anger, an innocent boy caught between perfunctory courtesies.
